LZJTU Self-funded Chinese Language Program is open to international students worldwide who have a passion for the Chinese language and culture. The program aims to enhance students’ practical Chinese language skills through one-semester or one -year intensive instruction, enabling them to meet the language requirements for degree programs. With specialized courses such as Science and Technology Chinese and Mathematics, the program also helps students build a foundational understanding of science and engineering disciplines, facilitating a smoother transition into degree education. Meticulous campus management ensures the safety and well-being of students, while diverse campus activities help them adapt to the Chinese educational environment in advance and improve their cross-cultural communication skills.

IV. Eligibility
To be eligible, an applicant must:
1. be a citizen of a country other than the PRC with a valid passport and in good health both mentally and physically ( An applicant who was originally a Chinese citizen but have acquired a foreign nationality should meet the conditions set by the Document No.12 (2020) issued by Ministry of Education of the PRC).
2. be an academically excellent holder of high school diploma or its equivalent at the age between 18 and 35 .
3. have a basic knowledge of Chinese, priority will be given to those who provide the HSK (Level 3) and HSKK.
4. have no violation of the laws and regulations of the PRC and the rules of any Chinese universities/colleges.

VIII. Application Documents:
1. Copy of Passport Home Page.
2. The visa page and records of entering and leaving China, if any.
3. Notarized highest diploma and academic transcripts. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
4. Certificate of language proficiency: the HSK (Level 3) and HSKK.
5. A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form (please refer to Appendix 1). The original document, printed by Chinese quarantine authorities, shall be filled in in English. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are invalid. Medical examination results are valid for only six months;
6. A valid Certificate of Non-Criminal Record (or Police Clearance Certificate) issued by the local public security (such as the police station), usually issued within six months prior to the submission date of the application.
(I) Check your Email or login on your LZJTU online application account to track your application status. Make sure your email address is correct and check your email occasionally, you will receive some important information.
(II) Successfully admitted candidates should confirm your offer through email within 10 working days. Log on the application system of LZJTU to pay for the registration fee 400 CNY online , tuition fee 5,000 CNY and accommodation fee 3,000 CNY. (All of fees are not refundable. If candidates do not confirm or fail to pay the fees in time, the admission offer will be regarded invalid.
(III) Once payment is made, the E-version of The Admission Notice of LZJTU (in Chinese & English) will be sent by E-mail in 15-20 working days. The admission notice shall be downloaded, printed and signed by candidates themselves.
(IV) Visit https://www.studyinchina.edu.cn and enter personal information to download the E-version of The Visa Application Form (JW202).
(V) International student insurance must be purchased before entering China. Choose 500-yuan plan and complete payment on the website https://www.lxbx.net/. For the procedure of online payment, please refer to Appendix 2.
(VI) All the admitted students should register within the time limit specified in The Admission Notice. Original application documents are required for freshman registration. The admission offer will be regarded invalid if students fail to register two weeks beyond the required enrollment period.
(VII) The admission offer will be regarded invalid if any document is found forged or fake, or any admitted student fails the physical re-examination or the entrance test.
X. Annual Review
There is a comprehensive evaluation of each students’ academic and daily performances in each academic year. Those who pass the annual review may have a chance to apply for next year’s silk road scholarship of Gansu Province or other scholarships.
